The project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS)
The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS) (former Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)) is to support human resource development of the Japanese grant aid recipient countries. JDS Project targets the highly capable young officials (mainly government) who are expected to engage in implementing social and economic development plans as a future leader.
JDS Fellows are also expected to contribute to the enhanced bilateral relations between their countries and Japan, with well-rounded knowledge of Japan.
JDS Project offers 2-year Master's courses at Japanese Universities in English. JDS Fellows will get a special opportunity for directly learning the forefront knowledge in the technological environment as well as for building the wide human networks.

Posses a Bachelor Degree from universities authorized by the Government of Uzbekistan. |

Work Experience |
Currently employed in the Target Organization as a full-time employee (Except temporarily employed staff such as contract based staff and part time employed staff). Have at least 2 (two) years of full-time work experience in the Target Organizations at the time of application. (Applicants can summate all the experience period among different Target Organizations) |
English Proficiency |
Have a good command of both written and spoken English. IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL 500-550 or equivalent is preferable (not compulsory) |
Health Condition |
Mentally and physically in good health. |
Ineligibility |
A person falls under the following items is not eligible to apply Those who are currently awarded or scheduled to receive another scholarship. Those who have already taken a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or higher degree in a foreign country under any kind of scholarship or at own expense. Military personnel and military civilian employees registered on the active list, and also personnel on temporally leave from the active list. Those who are temporally employed. |

Women are encouraged to apply. To be eligible for a scholarship, applicant must be in good condition physically and mentally from the time of application to the time of return to the home country after completion of his/her course in Japan. At the time that the scholarship is awarded, JDS Fellow must dedicate himself/herself to the study program of the university he/she attends to. Therefore, in case there is a drastic change in Fellow’s health condition (e.g. pregnancy, etc.) before his/her departure to Japan, and if university considers his/her condition not suitable for the pursuit of academic goal, scholarship may be cancelled, based on the decision/guidance of university. Final successful candidates are required to submit a contract on JDS regulations and other commitments designated by the Government of Uzbekistan. JDS Fellows are obliged to return and work within Uzbekistan at least three years in order to make a contribution to the development of Uzbekistan through their work in the Target Organizations, complying with the above mentioned contract. |
